  3. Who is responsible for our Chapter Ritual Books? The chapter VPR is responsible for safeguarding, storing, distributing and collecting chapter ritual books.

  4. Who gets a Master Ritual book? The three Master Ritual Books are for: - Chapter President -Chapter VP Membership - Chapter VP Ritual

  5. Who gets a Music Ritual book? The three Music Ritual Books are to be signed out to: Members accompanying ritual Members singing during ritual ceremonies

  6. How are the chapter ritual books tracked? The chapter VPR is responsible for assigning members the Master and Music Ritual books. She MUST utilize the Ritual Sign Out Sheet to track distribution and collection of the books. *”Ritual Sign Out Sheet for Music and Master Ritual” can be found on our Website (www.sai-national.org) under Forms and Documents

  8. Ritual books and the Official Visit(Collegiate and On-site Alumnae) All chapter ritual books (3 master & 3 music) must be available for the PO to view during the OV. If all ritual books are not present for the OV the chapter will be assessed a $100 fine. *If the chapter is missing books because they are lost, the PO will note this on the OV report and replacements will be sent. An additional fine for not having all 6 books will not be assessed.

  9. What can I copy from these books? NOTHING! No parts of the Master or Music Ritual Books may be reproduced in any format!

  10. What if I really like a quote in the Ritual?May I use it elsewhere? There are many beautiful quotes in our fraternity ritual. These quotes may be used as long as: You properly attribute the quote to the author You do NOT refer to the quote as having come from our SAI Ritual

  11. What if our chapter is missing books? If your chapter is missing books: Refer back to the sign out sheet to see who had the book last If the book cannot be located, contact the NVP Ritual & Fraternity Education Provide type (Master/Music) of book lost and the number of that book. *If you do not know the number in the missing book, send the numbers of the remaining books.

  12. How will lost books be replaced? Once the NVP Ritual receives notification, along with required numbers: NVPR will send a request to NH and have new books shipped Chapter will be assessed amount of fine ($100 per book) plus cost of postage *if lost books are found, extra books MUST be returned to NH

  13. Our books are damaged or worn, how do we get them replaced? If pages are falling out and/or missing, books may be replaced for the cost of postage. Mail books, via certified mail, to NVP Ritual Once books are received, new books will be mailed Chapter treasurer will receive an assessment for postage If covers are falling off: Tape them back on with heavy, clear, 2” tape

  14. Who gets a Member Ritual Book? All collegiate initiated members receive a copy of the Member Ritual book (since 2009) Any initiated member may purchase a copy through NH

  15. What is the objective of the Member Ritual Book? Allow all members to learn/review our current ritual and pledge Allow alumnae members the ability to assist with collegiate ritual ceremonies Facilitate easier learning of parts for ritual ceremonies Eliminate the need to sign out books for study prior to every ritual ceremony

  17. Ritual Music Resources/Tools Additions and Corrections Sheet- NEW! Corrections to Master Ritual, Member Ritual and Music Ritual Will be distributed to all chapters in the Fall Mailing from NH

  18. Ritual Music Resources/Tools Tempo Markings – NEW! Suggested tempo markings for all pieces in the Music Ritual book have been published Will be distributed to all chapters in the Fall Mailing from NH

  19. Ritual Music Resources/Tools Ritual Music CD – NEW! All pieces in the Music Ritual book have been recorded and put onto a CD. This will serve as a resource to guide your ritual rehearsals and will be available for purchase from NH.

  20. Ritual Music Resources/Tools Ritual Music CD – NEW! A recording of music for the Pledging and Collegiate Initiation Ceremonies. Under special circumstances, a chapter may ask the NVPRFE for a copy of this CD to be used when no pianist or instrumentalist is available to perform the accompaniment. Use of this CD is temporary and the CD must be returned no later than two weeks following the ceremony.

  21. Ritual Music Resources/Tools Simplified Accompaniments For those chapters without a pianist, simplified arrangements are available in the back of the Music Ritual book.

  22. Ritual Music Resources/Tools String Quartet arrangements A String Quartet arrangement of the Ritual Music is available for purchase from NH

  23. Ritual Music Resources/Tools 4-part Instrumental arrangements Coming soon! To be used by a quartet of various instrument combinations in the keys of C, B-flat, E-flat and F Will be available for purchase from NH

  24. Our Fraternity Ritual is the one constant that truly binds us together as sisters! It is our duty, each and every one of us, to safeguard our ritual and to treat it with the utmost respect!
