Academic Offerings • 10 Advanced Placement Courses to earn college credit on campus • 6 Accelerated Courses • Dual Enrollment to earn college credit • Wayne State University –On Campus (8) • College of Creative Studies (Art) • Macomb Community College • On-line course options through the Michigan Virtual High School (this could allow a student to move through high school faster than the normal track) (www.mivhs.org) • Career and Technological Education to learn specific job skills • Testing out of courses to move through high school faster • Independent Studies to gain a deeper understanding of a content • Band and Orchestra

School Improvement Plan • Teachers will use Reading strategies learned through Professional Development training in the following content areas: • Students’ will learn literacy strategies in Reading to improve their ability to process information quickly and respond to questions related to the text. Growing standardized test scores in Reading (7-10%) by 2014 • Students’ will learn mathematics skills that incorporate ACT style practice questions with distracter elimination skills along with practice and mastery of graphing calculators and breaking down text within the question . Growing standardized test score(7-10%) by 2014 • Students’ will learn how to Write in a manner that allows them to express judgments, develop a position, while focusing on their topic and maintaining effective use of language skills. Growing standardized test scores (7-10%) by 2014 • Students will learn to interpret and analyze data through the use of ACT style Chart and Graph warm-ups.
