What is the EU Immigration Portal? • A website for nationals from outside the EU interested in moving to the EU • Up-to-date, practical information on EU and national immigration procedures and policies • More than 600 pages of text onEU legislation, immigration policies and procedures of the 28 MS • Reference to further information on official external websites • Vast contact directory of governmental and non-governmental organisations for migrants

Objectives of the EU Immigration Portal • Informprospective migrants, migrants already in the EU and other stakeholders (governments and NGOs) about a variety of topics related to immigration • Demonstratethat legal migration is possible and even attractive for specific categories of immigrants that are needed in the EU • Describe the risks related to irregular migration, such as trafficking and smuggling • Help prospective migrants to comply with national immigration rules
