  3. What the CMS “IS NOT” • Is NOT a replacement to teaching • Is NOT a replacement to students finding information for themselves • Is NOT going to take up all of your time

Two Approaches... • Supporting Timetable Activities • Information to support Lectures, Tutorials, etc • Contains: Summary, Learning Objectives, Resources, Reading List • Supporting the Curriculum • Information to support a wider range of teaching • Suitable for clinical attachments • One location to find useful information • Outline of subject, Learning Objectives, Resources, Reading List

  5. Students • Check announcements regularly • Check timetable • View all supporting pages before and after face-to-face teaching • Read and understand Learning Objectives • Use additional resources for self-directed study

Staff • Check that their teaching is supported • Curriculum Pages • Timetabled elements • Write Learning Objectives and summaries for their elements • Upload supporting teaching materials • PowerPoint • Reading Lists • Link to additional teaching materials • University of Edinburgh Resources • Websites • E-Learning Materials

Course Coordinators • Responsible for the Curriculum pages • Write Learning Objectives for topics • Provide a summary of the teaching • Create additional “sub-topics” to create structure that is easy to use • Upload teaching materials • Link to additional materials • Communicate to subject teachers to manage content
