  1. Dental Implants Versus Dental Bridge

  2. These days dental implants and dental bridges have become a savior for many patients who have to undergo teeth replacement. However your dentist will be able to tell you which dental procedure is suitable for you. Hence it is important to speak to your dentist to be sure about everything. Today in this article we will be discussing about both the procedure to see the merits and demerits of each dental treatment.

  3. During the earlier days a bridge was the only choice for teeth replacement. Even today when you have to undergo this procedure your dentist will prepare the adjacent tooth by remove some amount of enamel so that the appliance can fit in. On the other hand a dental implant does not require the adjacent tooth to be removed. Your dentist will just replace the individual teeth and this yields better results. However if your neighboring teeth has large filling then a dental bridge will be your best option. On the other hand if a tooth has been missing for a long time resulting in receding gums and bone, then a dental implant will be required before replacement.

  4. It is easier to maintain a healthy with dental implants. The reason is that dental bridges are fixed in the mouth and to fill the space of the missing tooth your dentist will connect at least three crowns. They are typical hence it requires diligent and conscious effort from your end to take care of them. On the contrary dental implants does not require any other tooth to be removed hence the general dental hygiene can be followed. It is easier to use brush or use floss around your implants.

  5. Undoubtedly dental implants are more durable than dental bridges with an average life of 20 years. This adds to the high quality of protection. According to researches the metal cylinder of implant is made out of titanium. Titanium will fuse with your jawbone (this process is called as Osseointegration). The quality of this metal is that it is resistant to decay and gum problems. The average life of a dental bridge is 10 years. A slightest wear might result in loss of bridge because some portion of teeth will be below it. To add to it teeth will also be vulnerable to decay and gum disease.

  6. Everyone loves a beautiful smile; smiles that can win hearts and impress people. So when it comes to aesthetics dental implants are the best because the final tooth looks more or less like your natural tooth. However you still have to consult your dentist or prosthodontist to understand the effect of both of them. When you compare the cost then surely dental bridge emerges out as a winner. However because of less average life you might have to replace them. Dental Implants may seem to be costly but still over a period of time they turn out to be really pocket friendly.

  7. So what do you prefer? Dental Bridge or Dental Implant? In my opinion take help from a dentist and let him decide what needs to be done
