  2. Public Safety Radio Modernization Assessment: Vision • The existing LMR architecture is decades old and in dire needs of a comprehensive upgrade. • In conjunction with the build out of SIRCITS and narrow banding, this is an ideal time to pursue a comprehensive LMR modernization to provide operability and interoperability to meet local, state, federal needs and requirements.

  3. Strategic Planning It is expected that modernization of the LMR network will require a capital appropriation in the future. In advance of any appropriation, the following planning phases need to be conducted: An Assessment Phase: • Gap analysis and capability assessment of current system including coverage, resiliency, meeting public safety business or user requirements • Analysis of repeater architecture in light of newer technologies available • Spectrum use, allocation and assignment

  4. Planning • The final report is expected to provide necessary information and options to be considered before proceeding with future phases, an appropriation request, design/additional planning and implementation.

  5. This request: • Release of $50K to secure professional services to assist with preparation of RFP (content) and work plan for a comprehensive assessment, gap analysis, recommendations/options and strategic plan for modernization of the LMR system. • Q&A
