  3. Important Tips… • When completing word problems, it is important to write NEATLY! • It is important to use your strategy to determine the proper OPERATION or OPERATIONS! Sometimes you may need to do more than ONE problem! (GASP!) • Check to see that you used all of the information in the problem by crossing it out!

  4. Now you’re ready! Fr’eiona is growing tomato plants in her garden. She has 78 rows of tomatoes. In each row, she has 125 plants. The Farmer’s Association of West Chatham sent Fr’eiona a letter asking her to state how many tomato plants she has. Help her determine how many plants she has.

  5. You got it correct! Now let’s try another! James is organizing his sports card collection in his bedroom. He has the cards in 48 containers. In each container, he has 368 cards. How many cards does James have in his collection?

  6. Multiplication Masters! Mrs. Hallman started her seashell collection this summer. She goes to the beach 5 days a week and collects 15 shells per day. If she does this for 56 weeks, how many seashells will she collect?

  7. Ma’Kayla is helping Dr. Persons organize her candy bags. Dr. P has 63 bags. In each bag she has 599 pieces of candy. How many pieces does she have?

  8. The ice cream truck comes to West Chatham 5 days a week. It drives 22 miles each trip. How many miles will the truck drive in84 weeks?

  9. The stadium has 157 rows of seats. In each row, there are 98 seats. In the stadium, there are 8 sections. How many people can sit in the stadium?

  10. There are 8 slices in a pizza. The fifth grade eats 78 pizzas per week. How many pizza slices will they eat in 36 weeks?
