  3. I dance because… • I love to move • I like to express myself • I enjoy it or • I need this class for my credits • I have no choice • It is stupid to be the only one who cannot dance while going out…

I dance because… • It both helps the children to develop their motor skills as well as helping them to grasp reading and language • It helps children to express themselves in a total different way • My kids discovered Dancing Doodles, Wow!! • I achieved through dancing with children a lot more then I thought • Dance can be both individual and social, I never looked at it that way • Through dancing with children you’re not just busy with dancing

  5. Conclusion • Appreciation of the (educative) value of dance • Insight: dance is essential in educational process • Dance as a means to bring separate subjects together • “In order to understand something one should be able to dance it “

  6. If you want to integrate dance in every day life at school… How about integrating the every day teacher in dance… What does the every day teacher need to know about dance?

  7. Teacher skills the teacher is capable of recognizing incidental events, situations and subjects of attention that are relevant for further exploration in dance

  8. Dance is not alienated from the other subjects in school Dance activities can both connect to, as well as proceed learning activities such as language, arithmetic, views of life.
