INFORMATION • Turkey has a democratic, secular, unitary, and constitutional republic type of government. • Different political parties have fought for control • There was peace at one time and they’ve always struggled with leadership. • The government now has a constitution and they are a republic. • Turkish authorities have been violating human rights by use of live ammunition, tear gas, beatings, and sexual assaults.

  3. INFORMATION • Kurdistan People’s Congress is the main group opposing the government. They’re using suicide bombings and other terrorists tactics in order to damage the Turkish economy. There have already been 45,000 deaths as a result from the terrorist attacks. • They’re not gaining any ground. • No other countries have interfered with the conflict. • Turkey’s goal is to become an EU member
