  • By the end of this chapter, you should be able to:

    • Deploy a PHP application on your own computer.

    • Describe the components of a client-server architecture.

    • Distinguish between the way a web server processes static web pages and dynamic web pages.

    • Explain what these software components do as a web application runs: Apache, PHP, Firefox, and MySQL.

    • Describe the way a PHP application is deployed on your own computer or on an Internet server.

    • Describe the components of an HTTP URL.

  • Let’s take a quick look at the source code to get the flavor of PHP scripting
