O3 nonattainment • Mission • Review, prioritize, select potential control measures for recommendation to IDEM for inclusion in SIP development • Mission (revised) • Review, prioritize, select potential control measures for recommendation to IDEM for inclusion in rule development to meet RFP requirement

  6. NW Indiana AQSC • Process • 1-hr O3 AQSC reconvened for 8-hr. O3NAAQS • EMPC roundtable group develops list of potential control measures • EMPC modified/prioritized measures for AQSC evaluation • AQSC meetings every 2 months, increased to once per month • Evaluation of additional potential control measures • Presentations by knowledgeable parties in subject area • Group viability – cost, acceptability, emission reduction, affected area, etc. • “Granddaddy” matrix • Prioritization - Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 • Ranking/Scoring scheme: Quantitative/Qualitative/Hybrid • Recommendations => EMPC => NIRPC=> IDEM • IDEM rulemaking process

NW Indiana AQSC • Status • Rankings completed Sept. 19, 2005 • EMPC approved recommendations Sept. 19, 2005 • NIRPC Board approves submission of potential control measures to IDEM October 20, 2005 • IDEM indicated other measures are in the works that may reduce RFP target • May impact selection, order, implementation of recommendations • AQSC will meet as needed through rule making process
