  1. Canadian Moose The word "moose" comes from the Algonquin Indians. The moose is the world's largest deer.

  2. Habitat • Moose are usually found in cooler wooded areas. (Northern Maine, Canada and parts of Alaska. • Moose are only found in the northern Hemisphere, usually found as far south as Southern New Hampshire. • Moose are found in the woods and sometimes travel out into society roaming (streets, neighborhoods and rural areas) • The climate where moose are usually found is seasonal.

  3. Adaptation to Environment • Moose have long strong legs so that they can run through deep snow and thick brush very quickly.

Evolution And Natural Selection • They have long legs to propel them fast through rough terrain. • Antler toughness is a part of moose evolution, in helping with male competition during the mating season. • Another adaptation of moose is the strength of odor secreted from their urine to attract mates during the mating season.
