Modelling and Optimisation with Conditional Preferences and Soft Constraints Project Description The goal of this project is to develop formalisms and algorithms for optimisation with complex preferences, where the preferences are over combinatorial domains and compactly represented by means of either conditional preferences or soft constraints. We are especially interested in situations where the degrees of preference are only partially ordered, which often occurs, for example, when there is more than one criterion that we wish to optimise. This is a collaboration between 4C and the research laboratories IRIT and INRA in Toulouse.
