  1. Tuesday 9.13.2011 • Starter: • Read the selection “How Does an Oyster Make a Pearl?” • When you are finished: • Review your notes and vocabulary for chapters 1 and 2 • QUIZ TODAY!

Tuesday 9.13.2011 • During the quiz: • Keep your eyes on your own paper • Answer each question to the best of your ability • Be sure to answer all parts of the question • Follow all directions • After the quiz: • 1st Draw 10 empty word maps • 2nd Read your AR book • 3rd Take notes about what you are reading

Tuesday 9.13.2011 • Pre-reading vocabulary worksheet: Chapter 3 • Draw 10 empty word map boxes!! • Using words 11 – 20 on the handout  • Box #1: Guess the meaning (Use sentences on handout/Context Clues) • Box #2: Dictionary definition (ONLY after all 10 guesses are made) • Box #3: Give an example (A person, place, thing or action that exemplifies that word) • Box #4: Write the sentence (Make up a sentence using it correctly) • When you are finished  practice spelling the words a few times each
