  3. Standard model

  4. Standard model Kinetic energy of the Higgs fields, its gauge interaction, and the Higgs potencial Kinetic energy of the gauge fields and their self interactions Kinetic energy of the fermions and their interaction with the gauge fields Yukawa interaction of the Higgs field with the fermions

  5. Standard model vs. GTR vs.

  6. Higgs boson

  7. Higgs boson • „teoreticky narozen“ 27. července 1964 • narušuje elektroslabou symetrii • je zodpovědný za existenci hmoty • neutrální částice se spinem 0 • hmotnost 115 – 200 GeV • „prakticky nalezen“ snad již brzy

  8. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC

  9. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC

  10. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC

  11. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC • The MSSM explains the spontaneous breaking of electroweak symmetry by introducing two complex doublets of Higgs bosons, leading to five observable particles: • a pair of charged states H+, H- • three neutral states h, H, and A

  12. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC Prediction of the MSSM Higgs masses as a function MA and tanβ

  13. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC Exclusion plots for the h, A, and H-

  14. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC Higgsstrahlung from the b-quark becomes important for large tanβ Exemples of graphs for charged Higgs production and H+H- pair-production

  15. SM and MSSM Higgs at the LHC Dominant decay branching ratios of the MSSM Higgs bosons

  16. SUSY Higgs-Boson Searches at ATLAS Supersymmetry (SUSY): Symmetry between BosonsFermions

  17. SUSY Higgs-Boson Searches at ATLAS

  18. SUSY Higgs-Boson Searches at ATLAS Signal significance as a function of the Higgs boson mass for an integrated luminosity of 30fb-1

  19. FeynHiggs The Swiss Army Knife for MSSM Higgs Physics

  20. FeynHiggs

  21. FeynHiggs FeynHiggs is a Fortran code for the calculation of the masses of the neutral -even Higgs bosons in the MSSM up to two-loop order. It is based on the complete diagrammatic on-shell result at the one-loop level, the leading diagrammatic two-loop QCD contributions and further improvements taking into account leading electroweak two-loop and leading higher-order QCD corrections. The Higgs-boson masses are calculated as functions of the MSSM parameters for general mixing in the scalar top sector and arbitrary choices of the parameters in the Higgs sector of the model. • FeynHiggs • Current version: FeynHiggs 2.6.2 • Old version: FeynHiggs 2.5.1, FH 2.3.2, FH 2.2.10, ... calculation of the masses, mixing and much more of the Higgs sector of the (real or comlex) MSSM, including Higgs decays and production cross section • FHUCC (FeynHiggs User Control Center) obtain your FeynHiggs results online (version FeynHiggs 2.6.2)

  22. FeynHiggs • X86-Linux • Command-line interface: FeynHiggs 2.6.2 , [2.5.1], [2.3.2], [2.2.10] • Mathematica version: MFeynHiggs 2.6.2, [2.5.1], [2.3.2], [2.2.10] • PowerMacOS-10.4 • Command-line interface: FeynHiggs 2.6.2 • Mathematica version: MFeynHiggs 2.6.2 • Alpha Tru64 Unix • Command-line interface: FeynHiggs 2.6.2 • Mathematica version: MFeynHiggs 2.6.2 • Windows • Not yet  • But soon!

  23. Conclusion and Outlook Last piece of the puzzle for ATLAS 29/02/2008 At around 15.40 on Friday 29th February the ATLAS collaboration cracked open the champagne as the second of the small wheels was lowered into the cavern. Each of ATLAS' small wheels are 9.3 metres in diameter and weigh 100 tonnes including the massive shielding elements. They are the final parts of ATLAS' muon spectrometer. The first piece of ATLAS was installed in 2003 and since then many detector elements have journeyed down the 100 metre shaft into the ATLAS underground cavern. This last piece completes this gigantic puzzle.
