  7. High Holy Days Our regular service, open to the entire Richmond Community, as always, plus children’s services in the afternoon featuring prayers, stories and games.

  9. Simchat Torah As our Klezmer band plays, the Torah is unrolled around the room. Children march with flags, inside, stopping occassionally for Rabbi Ben and Mr. G to point out the important parts!

  13. Schabbat: Class Sevices During the school year, each class gets the opportunity to write and help lead their own service.

  17. Sukkot The entire patio becomes a sukkah and we eat a meal in it together. On Sunday, the older kids teach the younger ones about the sukkah, the lulav, and the etrog.

  19. Hanukkah Everyone brings their menorah to the service and they are all lit together at the window. A beautiful sight! The Hanukkah family party is always a lot of fun!

  21. Purim The story of Esther is told in many creative ways, from puppet show to game show. There’s a lot of noise, and a lot of magnificent costumes.

  25. Pesach Passover is celebrated with a Congregational Seder on the second night and with a unique Model Seder for the school the Sunday before.

  31. IOU / Mitzvah Days Almost 100 Or Amians came to clean up the city and do “deeds of loving kindness” – from building 300 Foster Care Kits TO cleaning school yards, cemeteries, and parks TO painting murals and passing out water and gas cards.

  34. RISC Social Justice at work – for affordable housing, jobs, health care - almost 70 Or Amians came to the ACTION in April.

  35. Habitat for Humanity Building homes and having a great time doing it.

  36. Bar/Bat Mitzvah Every Bar or Bat Mitzvah is unique because each family writes its own service.
