  1. Pros and Cons of Human Cloning DaniLough, Cameron Arkwright, Logan Stancato, and Morgan Miller

  2. Cloning Definition Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of a human. It does not refer to twins multiple births or the reproduction of humans/animals cells or tissue. The ethics of cloning is an extremely controversial issue.

  3. Pros Infertility- with cloning, infertile couples could have children. Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgery- With the new technology, instead of using materials foreign to the body for such procedures, doctors will be able to manufacture bone, fat, connective tissue, or cartilage that matches the patients tissues exactly. Defective genes- we could possibly change peoples genes so they wouldn't have to suffer with their defective genes. Liver and kidney failure- you can clone both for transplants. Leukemia- can clone bone marrow for children and adults suffering from leukemia, this said to be one of the first benefits to come from human cloning. Cancer- learn how to switch cells on and off through cloning and thus be able to cure cancer. Cloning may become the key to understanding the different kinds of cancer.

  4. Cons • Clones wouldn’t have souls. You can create a persons body but you can’t play God and make a soul. • Could possibly harm the human embryo. • Cloned cells would age quicker because the cloning cell was already used in a real-life individual. • Clones may not have all feelings. • Loss of genetic variation, we would all look the same. • Producing many clones runs the risk of creating a population of all the same. • Clones will have no individual life.
