  2. Epic • What are the 5 elements of an epic? • “An epic is a long narrative poem that recounts the adventures of a legendary hero in pursuit of a goal of national importance. The hero’s accomplishments reflect the values of his culture and usually figure prominently in the history of mythology of a people.” • Examples: Beowulf, Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Tain, Gilgamesh, Paradise Lost

  3. I think a major historical event that has happen during my life was 9-11. This was a big event for me because I was in New Jersey when this happen and my dad was a first responder. After 9-11 the American race ostracizedthe Muslim race.

  4. A few years, the Pisgah Covered Bridge got flooded and it was a big event for that area of North Carolina. My grandfather ran a saw-mill in that area and sawed the wood to rebuild the bridge. People came from all over to see the new, rebuilt bridge and took pictures. My grandfather’s picture was taken and put in a museum in Charlotte. I would tell my children this because it is a historical event in the place Igrew up and it is closely tied to their family. -The young girl was ostracized from the people she that she thought were her friends, so therefore she did not want to go to school.
