  1. Decay Of Different French FriesBy: Kalyssa, Hannah,&Paige Introduction: Kalyssa, Paige and I are going to experiment on the decay of fast food fries compared to Great Value bought fries. The fast food restaurants we are going to be getting our fries from are McDonalds and Burger King. Already knowing that fast foods are unhealthy, we expect the McDonalds and Burger King fries to be preserved for a longer time and show less signs of decay. *Step one:Buy small fries from McDonalds and Burger King. Go to Walmart and buy Great Value fries. *Step two:Cook Great Value fries, following directions carefully on back. Cook same day as when you purchase fast food fries. *Step three:Place McDonald’s fries in small disposable bowl. Place Burger King fries in small disposable bowl. Place one cup of Great Value fries in small disposable bowl. *Step four:Place bowls in a room with a 70 degree temperature. For this experiment, we are using Mr. Kohn’s back room. *Step five:Take a picture of each bowl every day for one week. *Step six:After one week, compare decay of McDonalds fries with Great Value fries, and compare the decay of the Burger King fries with Great Value fries. *Step seven:Make poster of results. Rational: We wondered if fast food fries (McDonalds and Burger King) have more preservatives than Great Value fries. To experiment, we are going to get fries from McDonalds and burger King. Then we’re going to buy Great Value fries from Walmart. We hypothesize (predict) that fast food fries won’t show signs of decay (hardening, color, shriveling up, etc.) as quickly as Great Value fries. We think this because fast food has the reputation of being unhealthier, therefore would have more preservatives. Hypothosis: We hypothesize that the Great Value fries will decay more quickly than the fast food fries would. We think this because McDonald and Burger King’s fries are thought to have more preservatives in them. The control of this experiment is the Great Value fries. The variables are the fast food fries (McDonalds and Burger King.) We are doing two variables because of the extra member in our group.
