  2. Algebra I Keystone Exams • Students in 6-12 who successfully complete Algebra I are required to take the Algebra I Keystone Exam. • Scores from 11th grade students will be used to determine AYP. • Schools can bank the scores of students who pass the exam prior to 11th grade until the student is in 11th grade.

  3. Program Details • This program was designed by a teacher to prepare students for the exam by: • Reviewing Eligible Content for the Exam, • Teaching Test-Taking Techniques, • Providing Flexible Instruction, and • Practicing Multiple-Choice and Open-Ended Questions.

  4. How it Works • The program can be used as • In an Algebra I course to increase academic rigor and practice eligible anchors, • As a remedial/review course for students, • As an independent course to prepare students for the exam, or • To reteach modules, as needed, to students who need to retake the exam.

  5. How it Works • Since 40% of a student’s score on the exam is from Constructed-Response Questions, the Program includes over 50 Open-Ended Problems, 2 from each Lesson. • Each Lesson’s Pretest and Posttest include questions that are similarly formatted to the released items.

  6. Program Components Include: • Module 1 & Module 2 Lesson (26 Lessons), • Test Taking Strategies, • Dictionary of Terms for Vocabulary Building, • Presentation Files for Each Lesson, • Using the TI-83/TI-84 or TI-73 on the Exam, and • Student Progress Forms and Awards

  7. Cost-Savings • To reduce the financial burden to districts, the program’s one-time cost provides 1 high school and 1 middle school a license to reproduce school quantities for multiple years. • For example: $1,250/(300 students x 5 years) = $0.83 per student (plus your district’s printing costs)

  8. Program Pricing • The Complete Program (per district) • $1,250 for the first high school and middle school, • Each additional high school is $750, and • Each additional middle school is $250. • For example: A district with 4 high schools and 5 middle schools would pay: $1,250 + (3 x $750) + (4 x 100) = $3,900

  9. Program Delivery • Upon receipt of payment, the district’s lead contact (of the district’s choosing) will receive a email link to a dropbox folder with each school’s specific files. • Each lesson will include the name of the district and school that obtained the license. • Documents are sent in PDF format and presentations are in PowerPoint, Flipchart, and PDF formats.
