The Allocation • EEE521 students pick topics from the web site, or suggest their own • The projects coordinator allocates, giving highest second year average mark first preference. • Allocation completed by end of week two. • Com560 students are distributed as fairly as possible across all available staff by the end of week three.

The roll of supervisor EEE521 Com560 • To meet with the student once a week in both semester 1 and 2 • To be available to discuss any academic or personal problems • To meet with the student on a regular basis in semester 1 and on a weekly basis in semester 2 • To be available to discuss any academic or personal problems

Topics and Supervision • EEE521 • The site contains a list of suggested topics by each supervisor. • If you have a topic of your own you need to have it agreed by a supervisor • COM560 • Meet with your supervisor now! • A topic or topic area may be suggested by your supervisor • If you have a topic of your own you need to have it agreed by a supervisor.

Whatyou need to do (EEE521) • You must submit by your student e-mail to m.doherty@ulster.ac.uk 3 preferred suggested topics including supervisor’s name or a title that you have agreed with a supervisor and 2 other options. • The email should include your name, student no. and course and 3 choices (titles in full). • Closing date • Friday 25th Sept, 2009, 2pm

Project Proposal Form • An example is on the web page. • To be completed by the student. • Must be agreed by your supervisor, the second marker and you. • A hard copy, signed by your supervisor, the second marker and you must be submitted to the co-ordinator by Wednesday 7thof October as well as a digital copy, which should e-mailed to your supervisor as an attachment. The attachment should be saved as your_student#.doc, e.g. 12345601.doc • A copy should be retained by both the student and supervisor. • COM560 , by the end of week 1 semester 2
