Vision-Mission The Xavier University College of Agriculture is one with Xavier University as a Filipino, Catholic and Jesuit institution in its Mission Statement towards the • “integral development of the person for the • needs of Mindanao and country” and • “to form men and women of competence, • conscience and commitment in service of the • Church and the Filipino people”.

  3. Its curricula include a distinctive combination of actual field work in technical subjects and the liberal arts formation characteristic of a Jesuit school. The Aggie College has a fourfold mission of: • Instruction • Research • Extension • Production It strives to produce graduates with sound academic, spiritual, and moral foundation in order for them to become “men and women for others“.

Undergraduate Scholarships XUCA offers scholarships/grants-in-aid to academically qualified but with financial difficulties students through its Undergraduate Scholarships/ Grants-in-Aid Program. Three types of grants are the following: > full tuition with allowance > full tuition w/o allowance > half tuition w/o allowance

The Social Apostolate of the College of Agriculture Complex Objectives As an integrated program of education, organization and mobilization, it empowers the base social groups such as small farmers and the rural poor and envisions that these base social groups can participate in a wider decision making process

  14. The Sustainable Agriculture Center (SAC) • Established in 1999. • Conducts research and extension activities with farm cooperators on sustainable farming systems.

  15. Established in 1983. • Conducts short-term training courses on methods of appropriate technology. • Produced various prototypes of farm tools, equipment, and small machinery. • The Appropriate Technology Center (ATC)

  16. The Food Technology Center (FTC) • Established in 1987. • Conducts short-term courses in food processing to interested housewives and other groups as well as to rural communities.

  17. Mindanao Support and Communication Center for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (MINCARRD) • Established in 1988. • Engages in research and studies on Agrarian Reform and its implementation. • Engages in studies on other rural development issues like peace process, environment and sustainable development. • Conducts training on the same issues. • Engages in policy advocacy on the same issues.

  18. The Year of Service (YOS) Program • Established in 1987. • The program is for college graduates who would volunteer to work with a rural community for a year. • Batches of volunteers have been assigned to work in various places in Mindanao.

  19. The Cooperative Business Institute (CBI) • Established in 1999 by co-partners, namely: SEARSOLIN, the Cooperative Development Authority, the coop sectors of Northern Mindanao and the Livelihood Enhancement for Agricultural Development, Inc. • Provides training, research and educational publications to upgrade the business and professional skills of cooperatives and their leaders in the Region.

  20. The Periurban Vegetable Project • (PUVeP) • Established in 1997 as a project co-funded by the European Union Commission. • Provides research, training and educational materials on urban natural resources management and food production.
