Mission Statement • Develop students’ life skills so they can: • thrive in product-focused, diverse-skilled teams • generate concepts of high IP value to patent, • launch a company, or license • use Intelligent Fast Failure • develop solid, sustainable business models • use passion, leadership, and hard work to • lead innovation in a new or existing company

  3. Program Audience: Number of Faculty 5 tenured or tenure track 5 fixed-term Number of Courses offered each semester: 4 core courses (132 students) 3 supporting courses (115 students)

  4. What are your most exciting • activities? • Course creation and teaching: • Smeal College of Business + • College of Engineering • BA/ENGR497G – Intro. To E-SHIP • BA/ENGR497E – Market-Pull Tech. • Commercialization • New external E-SHIP Advisory Board

  5. What is the biggest challenge • you face? • Minor operates in academic “cocoon”: • what are best ways to bring in realities • of technology entrepreneurship? • Resource usage: focus on few • high-potential students or the • many students with e-ship interest

  6. What new initiatives are • you planning? • International E-SHIP experience • (Budapest, Hungary) • 1 credit seminar Spring 05 • 2 credit trip May 05 • PSU New Venture Competition • E-SHIP MBAs mentor undergrad teams • Prize = trip to business plan competitions
