  2. Security Management Functionality • LDAP – Domain Authentication • Security Helpdesk • Admin Helpdesk • Emergency Access

Navigating through the Sea Domain Authentication • Domain Authentication should be set up with assistance from SCC • Variable HAS_EXT_SEC should be set by SCC • There is no additional charge for implementation of Domain Authentication • Domain Authentication can be setup using TEST>LIVE process or can be done within a project scope. I prefer the later. – Why?

  4. Don’t Abandon the Ship! • 1. Gather the required network information. • 2. Define the domain(s) in Security Management • 3. Add the domain login information to users • 4. Set the Authentication Type • 5. Log into a Soft Application.

Set a Course - Functionality Options Which option meets your needs? • Default is SCC extended security “0” - System uses the default SCC Security Authentication. • Windows Domain Authentication Only “1” – SCC extended security auth. Is replaced by auth. to AD (active directories) via LDAP. Information about Domain must be taken from WINDOMAIN record. • Windows Domain Auto Login “2” – Security Management will use the user’s credentials to search for a matching SCC user account in the system. • Windows Domain Auto Login for Citrix Only “3” – If you are logged on to Citrix, SSO is used to open SoftModules. No Citrix - 0

Anchors Aweigh • Gather the required network information • Contact your network/domain administrator and ask them for your root or main domain name(s), and if possible the directory(ies) where the user records reside. • The main domain name is usually the same as the last portion of your facility’s e-mail address. • Your e-mail address is john.doe@mycompany.com, then it is likely that the main domain name where the user profiles reside is mycompany.com.

  11. From Stem to SternUsers not built in Security Management? Import them. • From the Import tab of Security Management user records can be imported from the domain into Security. • The Admin should enter his/her Domain User ID and Domain password on the tool bar. Select the Domain they want to import user from and select the Connect icon

  12. Sound the HornImport from Domain: User ID, PW, Domain, Connect

  13. Batten Down the HatchesAfter connected, to find all users simply choose “find”

  14. Gather the Cabin Boys (people) Select users from the user list and all or add all

  20. Security Helpdesk-Basic Basic Security Helpdesk is a web based tool for trouble shooting basic user access. Access can be given to Helpdesk without giving user access to the Security Management application. There is a link that can be created to take user to the Helpdesk.

  21. Security Helpdesk- Basic Option 790 gives access to the basic helpdesk.

  22. Security Helpdesk- Basic The Role is then given to the user.

  23. Security Helpdesk- Basic Remember that Security is site-less and site roles will not work for this.

  27. How do I find the link for helpdesk on an environment? Environments Settings SSM > GLOBAL > SCC_URL > Default Value

  28. So we take the value http://scc91.softcomputer.com:7703and we add /csf/helpdeskto it.

  29. Now that we have link http://scc91.softcomputer.com:7703/csf/helpdesk We can enter it in to a desktop shortcut……

  31. Security Helpdesk- Basic Clicking the shortcut opens the Helpdesk log on screen……

  32. Security Helpdesk- Basic Or the Domain Authentication screen will display if DA is being used.

  33. Security Helpdesk- Main Menu Help desk user can now search for users to perform different functions.

  34. Security Helpdesk- Activate Users The search toolbar can also be used to find Inactive users.

  35. Security Helpdesk- Unlock Users User can be selected and elpdeskuser can Unlock the locked user.

  36. Security Helpdesk- Reset Passwords While user is still on screen helpdesk user can reset password at the same time. Password will reset to default password or user id depending on system settings. In CSF 1.0.1.45 and higher. Reset Password button will also unlock user record at the same time

  37. Security Helpdesk- Review Date A User can not log on to system and is getting error that their access needs review……

  38. Security Helpdesk- Review Date …….The Helpdesk user can search for the user. The Review Date displays at end of record.

  39. Security Helpdesk- Review Date The Review Date can be extended for a number of days.

  40. Security Helpdesk- Review Date The number of days is controlled by SSM setting Security Management\Helpdesk\ DaysToExtendReviewDate . Default is 10 days from current date.

  41. Security Helpdesk – Security Question If the Help Desk person is unsure of user who has called. They can ask user to answer their Security Question.

  42. Security Helpdesk – Security Question If Security Questions are turned on they display when user clicks the More Arrow…….

  44. Security Helpdesk – Security Question Security questions are turned on in Settings \ Definitions. Settings > CSF > Security > UseSecurityQuestions

  45. Security Helpdesk – Security Question When a User first logs on they are asked to change their password. They are also asked to choose a Security Question and answer it.

  46. Admin Helpdesk The Admin helpdesk has the all the functionality of the Basic helpdesk plus other options.

  47. Admin Helpdesk Option 7901 gives access to the Admin helpdesk.

  48. Admin Helpdesk The Admin helpdesk has mobile and non-mobile versions

  49. Admin Helpdesk The filter lets Admin search for users they would like to work with.
