  1. GLOW IN THE DARK BUBBLES! By: Annie Stone Taylor Yip

  2. Chem Concept: How black lights bring out neon colors and make things glow in the dark.

  3. What are black lights and how do they make things glow? A black light is just like a regular florescent light with a phosphor coating and it restricts certain wave lengths. Black lights emit ultraviolet radiation and certain materials and pigments containing phosphors absorb the invisible light, then re-emit it. Absorbing and releasing photons causes materials to lose energy, creating longer wavelengths that appear visible to the human eye. The phosphors in the material is what you see glowing.

  4. Demo: Glow in the dark bubbles?!?!?! YES! We made bubble solution and mixed it with highlighter ink to form a neon bubble which will glow when we shine the black light on it. …and then we’ll eat ice cream… And since it should have something do with our chem concept: scoops are circular shaped… kinda like bubbles 
