Context • Captain Nichola Goddard serves the community of Panorama Hills. • The 2012-2013 school year marked the first year of operation. • Students came to our school from over 52 other schools, including middle, elementary and junior high settings. • ELL (English language learners) made up 50.6% (provincial average 16%) • Special Education students made up 9.6% (on par with province).

  33. Tell Them From Me (TTFM) SurveyCaptain Nichola Goddard School

  34. TTFM Survey TTFM is an online survey that allows students to give their input into school improvement initiatives in an anonymous way. The TTFM survey includes measures around social/emotional outcomes (e.g. student engagement, emotional health), physical health outcomes (e.g. physical fitness, risky behaviours), and drivers of student outcomes (e.g. quality instruction, classroom context). The survey also allows students to give their thoughts and feedback in an open-ended question response. This survey is administered twice during the school year.

Grade 4, 5 & 6: 71% of students in this school were interested and motivated; the Canada norm for these grades is 71%.   36. TTFM Survey According to the system and national data, Interest and Motivation (along with other indicators of engagement) markedly decline as students progress through middle school. We aim to be an exception to the pattern
