  2. Why Use Surpass Safari • To Locate Book • For Research • To check the status of a book to see if it is available for checkout

  3. How can you search? • Author • Title • Subject • Keyword • Advance searches including format • and call number

  4. Finding a book using the“CAT” method • Once you have found a title in the catalog that you want to locate, you will need the “CAT” information to find the book on the shelve. C = Call Number A = Author T = Title

  5. Title Search Step 1 • Click on Title

  6. Title Search Step 2 • Type in the title you are trying to locate.

  7. Title Search Step 3 • “Matching Titles” will appear, click on the title that matches your search.

  9. To begin another search clickon the home icon.

  10. Subject Search Step 1 • Click on “Subject”

  11. Subject Search Step 2 • Type in the subject you are researching. For this demo, we will search “cats”

  12. Subject Search Step 3 - This search brought up a list of 61 books, too large. The search would need to be narrowed by clicking on back and being more specific. - To continue from list, select a title by clicking on the blue title.
