What does excretory mean

What does excretory mean?

  • Excretory comes from the word excrete which means to separate and eliminate from the body.

  • Skin- The skin is responsible for producing sweat, which helps cool off the body.

  • Liver- The liver has a small organelle called a peroxisome, which takes high levels of toxicity and converts them into less toxic substances.

  • Kidneys- The kidneys function is to regulate various body fluids and salt concentration. The kidneys contain 3 parts: the renal cortex, the renal medulla, and the renal pelvis.

  • Ureter- The ureter is 2 tubes that lead into the bladder.

  • Bladder- The bladder holds unnecessary wastes for storage.

  • Urethra- The urethra is where urine leaves the body.
