LIGHTING SYSTEM • Appointed lighting contractor, Italy-based • Valerio Maioli S.p.a • Lighting tests have been conducted at the • Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track • in Le Castellet, France, to study the system under • real racing conditions • The first ever FORMULA 1™ night race was approved • by the FIA on 24 October 2007

  8. LIGHTING SYSTEM Challenges • Not a permanent circuit • Impossible to put cables in • underground ducts • Trees along the roads • To prevent the unnecessary • uprooting of trees, • the height of the lights • would have to be lower • than the tree canopy • lining the circuit

LIGHTING SYSTEM • The Requirements • Optimal lighting and no glare is required to meet • the following requirements: • Safety • The driver’s, marshal’s • and spectator’s • safety is critical • Good Visuals • For spectators, drivers • and journalists • Able to broadcast • High-Definition pictures

  10. LIGHTING SYSTEM • The Solution • Bespoke state-of-the-art lighting system that delivers optimal visibility for night race conditions. • The overall result would be almost four times brighter than a typical stadium • Set-up: 2-3 months, from second quarter 2008

TICKETING • Catch the action up close at corporate hospitality suites and grandstands located at strategic locations around the circuit • Corporate hospitality suites • A phased ticketing system went on sale from November 29 and will continue to early December 2007 • The deluxe suites – also known as Sky and Club Suites will be fully equipped with personalised service and food and beverage will be catered by five-star hotels around the circuit • General Ticketing • Sale of three-day passes start in late December 2007 • Single-day passes released for sale just before the Chinese New Year (late February), subject to available inventory
