  8. What are themes? • Pre-designed layouts for websites or blogs • Can be edited in code or control panel to produce desired layout/colour scheme

  9. What have we done so far? • Discussed the final product – what it will be • Researched the best way to go about creating the theme • Allocated team roles • Discussed team rules • Completed ‘Terms of Reference’ document • Created gantt charts • Proposed several designs for the layout of the theme • Created the file structure • Created a blog to update progress

  10. Proposed Designs

  11. Coding themes for Wordpress • PHP • Basic file structure: • index.php • comments.php • screenshot.png • Style.css

  12. Online Blog • We have created an online blog to track progress on the project • Each member will upload evidence of tasks completed each week • Blog will ultimately become the tutorial itself

  13. What’s next? • Implement the chosen design • Implement PHP code for functionality • Once the design is up online, research into how to make it customisable • User testing on different browsers for cross compatibility with CSS

  14. Evaluation • Test tutorial by walking through the step by step instructions • Peer testing – ask a selected number of students to test the tutorial and see how efficient it is

  15. Conclusion • Create a customisable Wordpress theme • Create tutorials on what we have done and basic PHP • Coded with PHP • We will compare our product to those already available and review our performance in the report.
