  2. What NOT to do: • Nothing--no work is perfect, You do not do any good to the author or yourself by leaving a paper blank. • Avoid General and Vague Compliments • Great Paper! • I love Your Paper • Makes No Sense • Boring

  3. Try to Examine Specifics • Go from 1 (Excellent) to 3 average, to 5 (Poor) on the following aspects: • Form (MLA?) • Title (Caught Interest?) • Opening Paragraph how much was your interest peeked?) • Clarity of Idea • Variety of Sentence Form

  4. Go from 1 (Excellent) to 3 (Average), to 5 (Poor) on the following aspects: • Paragraph (Does it stay on a main idea?) • Voice (Stilted or Natural) • What is the purpose of the paper (what audience is being aimed at?) • Grammar / Syntax (sentence structure) • Make sure it is right • Make sure it is clear • Spelling • No one notices unless it is poor; then nearly everyone notices!
