  1. I.C.T= InformationCommunicationTechnology • Mean to transfer , preserve and analyse the information and then properly utilize in our day to day life.

  2. ICTI.T.C= Information Communication TechnologyInstrument Related to ICT: ComputerThe device which is behind the great change of the entire world that started using information and communication technology is computer . There are many more types of computer those are like;

  3. How computer works.

  4. INPUT DEVICE INPUT DEVICES :It allow the user to get data into the machine .A large range of input device are available. The following function are performed by an input device: • It accept(or read) the instruction and data from the outside world. • It convert these instruction and data in computer acceptable form. • It supplies the converted instruction and data to the computer system for further processing. Example of input device are keyboard, mouse, scanner.

  5. MOUSEOne of the most popular type of specialized input device .It is the popular point and drawing device • If the user rolls on the mouse forward and to the right cursor moves up to the right on the screen .such movements enable tke users to: • Point to the icon or tiny picture that identify processing choices • Point to line items in lists • Draw lines and pictures non a screen. With the click of a button the system can be notified of this choice.

  6. scanner • Scanner is a light sensing input device that read printed text and graphic and then converts the result into a form the computer can use. Scanner are of two type-the flatbed type and the roller-feed type. In a roller-feed the image is passed over a roller where it is captured. Where as the flatbed variety works like a photo-copier .Flatbed scanner can scan and store images from books without having to remove the page, which is difficult in the case of the roller- feed scanner.

  7. Microphone • Microphone is an input device to input sound that is then stored for further processing . Microphone is used for various application like adding sound to a multimedia presentation or for mixing music.

  8. OUTPUT DEVICES OUTPUT DEVICES: It helps a user to get output result after the data has been processed. The following function are performed by an input device: • It accept the result produced by the computer, which are in coded form, and hence, cannot be easily understood by us. • It converts these coded result to human acceptable(readable) form. • It supplies the converted result to the outside world. Example of output device Printer, plotters and VDUs(visual Display Units)

  9. PrinterAn output device that produces text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper ,is called a printer. LASER PRINTER A high-quality printer that works like a photocopier to produce high-quality images on a page is called a laser printer .A laser beam draws on a light-sensitive drum . The drum picks up a fine powdered ink, called toner, and transfers the tonner to the paper to create the images.

  10. MONITOR • Once the monitor of a computer occupied large space , today’s monitor are light and thin. • Monitor commonly called as Visual Display Unit(VDU) is main output device of computer.

  11. Input , output & both

  12. PERIPHERAL DEVICES The peripheral device can be classified as input devices and output devices. INPUT DEVICES :It allow the user to get data into the machine .A large range of input device are available. The following function are performed by an input device: • It accept(or read) the instruction and data from the outside world. • It convert these instruction and data in computer acceptable form. • It supplies the converted instruction and data to the computer system for further processing. Example of input device are keyboard, mouse, scanner. OUTPUT DEVICES: It helps a user to get output result after the data has been processed. Example of output device Printer, plotters and VDUs(visual Display Units)

  13. Keyboard • The keyboard resemble a typewriter .But there are additional keys that handle control functions. The computer keyboard has three categories of keys: • Alphanumeric keys • Special keys • Function keys. The Alphanumeric keys comprises of alphabets(A-Z or a-z)numbers(0-9)and other characters, like space..!<>”:@#$()%&!_+|\{}; The Special keysperform specific task.Some of the special key ,Enter key, Return key ,Backspace key, Delete key, Insert key, Shift key, number Luck key and Alt Key. The function keys are used to perform a set of operation by a single keystroke.the function key can be used for various function.

  14. MOUSEOne of the most popular type of specialized input device .It is the popular point and drawing device. • If the user rolls on the mouse forward and to the right cursor moves up to the right on the screen .such movements enable tke users to: • Point to the icon or tiny picture that identify processing choices • Point to line items in lists • Draw lines and pictures non a screen. Where as the flatbed variety works like a photo-copier .Flatbed scanner can scan and store images from books without having to remove the page, which is difficult in the case of the roller- feed scanner.

  16. OMR(Optical Mark Reader) &Barcode Reader

  17. OUTPUT DEVICE MONITOR: Monitor are the most commonly used output devices today for producing soft-copy output. The VDU is a device used for interactive processing i.e - data that is being keyed in, is displayed on the screen or a monitor. Message and processed information are also displayed on the screen. The combination of keyboard and VDU is referred to as Video Display Terminal(VTD) which is an input/output device.

  18. Printer An output device that produces text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper ,is called a printer. LASER PRINTER A high-quality printer that works like a photocopier to produce high-quality images on a page is called a laser printer .A laser beam draws on a light-sensitive drum . The drum picks up a fine powdered ink, called toner, and transfers the tonner to the paper to create the images.

  19. PLOTERS Plotter is an output device which is used for printing banners and poster. There are two type of plotter : • Flat bed plotter • Drum plotter. 1.Flat bed plotters This use a bed or tray to hold a paper in a fixed position. Asingle arm moves the pen both horizontally(i.e..x-coordinate)and vertical (i.e..y-coordinate).The computer instruct the flatbed plotter by directing the pen to x-y positions on the page.
