  2. Nickname and stadiums • The nickname of the Spanish side is La Furia Roja (The Red Fury) or La Roja (The Red One). • The Spanish team’s home stadiums are Santiago Bernabéu, Vicente Calderón and Mestalla.

  3. Kit • Spain's kit is a red top with yellow trim and dark blue shorts and socks. The away kit is a full white kit with red and yellow trim or a yellow top with dark blue shorts and socks. • Spain's kit is designed by Adidas. • It has the Coat of arms of Spain over the left breast.

  4. International competitions • Won the UEFA European Championship in 2008. • Won the European Nations’ Cup in 1964 and reached the UEFA Euro 1984 final. • Qualified for the FIFA World Cup 12 times, and were 4th in the 1950 tournament. • Ranked first in the FIFA World ranking in July 2008. • Along with Brazil hold record for number of times undefeated - 35 consecutive matches.

  5. Biggest defeats • Their biggest defeats were to Italy (in 1928) and England (in 1931). • They lost both matches 7-1.

  6. Biggest win • Their biggest win was against Bulgaria (in 1933), when they won 13-0.

  7. Top goalscorer As of 3 March 2010, the highest scorer for Spain is Raúl with 44 goals.

  9. My favourite player • My favourite player for Spain is Iker Casillas. • He was born on the 20 May 1981 in Móstoles, Madrid and is the goalkeeper. • He plays for Real Madrid. • Favourite food: fried eggs with potatoes (like me!). • Hobbies: being with friends and families.

  10. 2010 FIFA World Cup • Their current FIFA ranking is 2. • In the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Spain are in Group H with Switzerland, Honduras and Chile (easy!!).

  11. Conclusion I think Spain have a strong team and they have a good chance of doing well in the World Cup in South Africa in June. I might support them as my second favourite team.
