  4. PennKey Provides access to the University systems • PennKey set up codes will arrive by US mail within 10-12 business days of LPS receiving your Intent to Enroll. • Haven’t received it, or need it immediately? Visit the Registrar’s Office on campus or call 215-898-1561.

  5. Penn/SAS Email School of Arts and Sciences (sas.upenn.edu) email address isrequired for all LPS students. Those without an sas.upenn.edu e-mail will have difficulty receiving strategic communications from professors and other Penn departments Quick Tip Have your Penn student email address forwarded to your personal email. Instructions here.

  6. Check your sas.upenn.edu e-mail, or you won’t receive: • Deadline-sensitive notices from LPS • Announcements from faculty, Penn Summer Sessions, and the University • Your student bill and late fees will incur • Final course grades • and more!

  7. 2 Steps to Activate Your SAS Email 1. Click here to set up SAS email now. You will need your PennKey and password. 2. Then click here to set up your SAS email in the PENN directory.

  8. PennCard • Pick-up your PennCard after registering for classes • Provides access to campus buildings and facilities. • When on campus, carry your PennCard at all times. • If you work for Penn or HUP, alert PennCard of your “student” status. Quick Tip PennCard office is at 3451 Walnut St.

  9. PennPortal • Access on www.upenn.edu, click on “Current Students.” • Provides access to all important electronic systems including: • Penn In Touch - • The student gateway to academic, financial & profile information • Webmail • Blackboard

  10. 4 Facts about Penn Summer andthe College of Liberal and Professional Studies • The College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) is a division of the School of Arts and Sciences. • Penn Summer is a program based in LPS. • LPS Student Services and support staff are here to assist you as a visiting student during summer sessions. • The LPS website is your first point of contact for all questions you have while on campus.

  12. What you can find on the LPS Website • Links for New, Current, and Prospective students • Most commonly used links at the bottom of the main page • Wondering about a policy or requirement? Check the Undergraduate Student Handbook first. • Forms (ex. Late Drop, Withdrawal, etc.) • LPS calendar- it’s different from the University’s calendar • LPS Online Course Guide lists all LPS courses • Most up to date listings • Search by dept., time, requirement, etc.

  13. Academic Calendar • Located on the LPS website- www.pennlps.org or the Penn Summer website www.upenn.edu/summer • Includes all important deadlines • Semester start/end dates; exam schedule; holidays/breaks • Students are responsible for knowing these dates!

Registering for courses • Register for courses through Penn In Touch (PIT) • Can be found on Penn Portal • Adds/drops can be done in PIT, but Late Drops and Withdrawals must be done through an advisor • Having registration problems? • LPS Phone: 215-746-7040 • Email: lps@sas.upenn.edu • Include: full name & contact info, 10 digit course number (ex. ANTH 003 601)

  25. 1) Log in to Penn InTouch and use the Course Search tool 2) You can search by subject, requirement, program, day/ time, and more.

  26. 3) When you have found a course you are interested in, click “Add to Cart” This does not mean you are registered! Adding to the cart is like bookmarking the course

  27. 4) In the main menu, click Register for Courses 5) In the drop-down menu, select the subject code, the course number, and the section number of the course you want to register for. 5) Click Add Request

  28. You aren’t done yet… 6) Always double check your registration! Mistakes can cost you. Click on View Schedule in the main menu
