  1. Kell DramaPlay Guidelines

  2. CONDUCT Students participating in Kell Drama productions are expected to maintain excellent conduct in and out of the classroom and rehearsal. Students who have conduct issues may be demoted or dismissed. ISS/OSS: Students who serve ISS or OSS or who are absent from school may not participate in rehearsal on those days and may be dismissed from the production. DISMISSAL: In exceptional situations such as fighting or disrespect, students may be dismissed from a production without prior warning. In accordance with Cobb County Policy, any fees paid prior to dismissal will not be refunded.

  3. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY Students must maintain academic eligibility in accordance with school policy. • All Students must pass 5 of 7 fall courses. • Sophomores must have 5 credits. • Juniors must have 11 credits. • Seniors must have 17 credits. (Cast and crew must present a signed Report Card form or a copy of their fall Report Card to the first January rehearsal verifying that they passed five courses. Failure to pass five fall courses will result in dismissal from the show in accordance with CCSD policy.)

  4. ATTENDANCE / TRANSPORTATION Students are expected to attend all rehearsals unless specifically excused. No absences are allowed during the final three weeks of rehearsal and production. Students and parents agree not to schedule appointments during rehearsal. Emergency situations will dealt with on a case by case basis. Students who work must arrange their work schedules in advance in order not to miss rehearsal. Parents also promise to arrange for timely transportation from rehearsals and performances. Students cannot be left alone at school to wait for rides after rehearsal has dismissed. If you are late in picking them up, Mr. Hicks or another staff member must also wait. Please be mindful of this situation.

  5. ABSENCES Students who are absent from school may not attend rehearsal; per CCSD policy, a student must be present at school for at least one half of the day to participate in extracurricular activities. However, their absence will be considered excused as long as their absence from school was excused through PPO. Students who do not present an excuse note to PPO will be considered unexcused. Any unexcused absence or excessive excused absences (more than two) may result in loss of role to an understudy or dismissal from the production.

  6. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS All students are expected to arrive on time and dressed appropriately for rehearsals and work calls. Furthermore, students are expected to maintain a positive and supportive attitude at all times. All Cobb County and Kell High School Policies regarding Extracurricular Activities are in effect.
