  2. Ayran, boza, salep, şalgam,şıra, grape şerbet are our most impotant traditional beverages. Nowadays people don’t usually consume grape şerbet or the other kinds of şerbet. Boza and sahlep which are the traditional beverages, are only drinks that consist of energy.

  3. Ayran is the drink that is widely drunk. It is a healty beverage that is rich in proteins but poor in energy. Şalgam is drunk in some regions of Turkey and it consists of low energy. In this presentation we will inform you about two beverages that rich in energy. These are boza and sahlep.

  8. Sahlep is traditional drink which keeps you hot on cold winter days which provides immunity to cold, and which is nurtitious when prepared with milk. Sahlep is indispensible drink in winter months in our country. From the encient times it is known among people as effective against diarrhea, bowel disorder cold and coughing.

  9. A RECİPE FOR MAKİNG SALEP • One small spoon of sahlep • One dessert spoon of starch. • One liter of milk • Three spoons of sugar. • Cinnamon

  10. Stir sahlep, sugar and starch, pour milk slowly. Cook it on low flame by stirring continuously. After it boils, pour it into a cup and sprinkle cinnamon on to the sahlep.
