  1. John Swider, Austin Talty, Ivan Giron Bio Dome Project

  2. About the Bio Dome • The Bio Dome is a place where humans don’t have to feed the animals. In this Bio Dome the main thing in order to live is photosynthesis. Photosynthesis provides energy and building materials to all the organisms in the ecosystem.

  3. The Needs of Organism to related of cells Cells are what makes a body going

  4. Needs of organisms are related to age and health Young Stage Middle Stage Old Stage

  5. Type of the Ecosystem • The type of the ecosystem that our team chose was the rainforest. The climate in this ecosystem is just right for animals and humans. This is a great place for animals to live and hopefully humans will get used to it.

  6. Type of animals in the rainforest • African forest elephant • Bengal tiger • Beatle • Common palm ciret • Jambu fruit dove • Toco toucan • Vampire bat • Wagler’s pit viper

  7. How will Animals survive? • Some animals eat certain things or other animals. Animals that eat plants are called herbivores and omnivores. Animals that eat other animals are carnivores and omnivores. Animals that eat both plants and animals are omnivores. In the food web, in the last slide it shows how each animals get energy and the arrows show where the energy goes.

  8. Type of plants in the rainforest Bengal Bamboo Bougainvillea Curare Coconut tree Durian Jambu Kapok tree Mangrove forest Stranger figs tualang

  9. How Will Plants survive? • Plants needs sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to survive. The plant gets sunlight from the sun. The plants get water from itself, ground and rain(H2O). The plant gets carbon dioxide from animals that breath it out and also humans that breath it out. The Bio Dome really needs plants in order for animals and humans get oxygen.

  10. Descriptions of animals • African rain forest elephant- survive on diet herbs and trees and large amounts of water. • Bengal tiger- are carnivores that only eat meat. • Toco toucan- Eats fruits and insects. • Boa constricter- eats song birds, bats and small mamials, and snakes. • Vampire bat- Eats blood of birds. • Common palm ciret- mammal, omnivore, eats fruit, insects, and reptiles. • Jambu Fruit Dove- it eats fruits and drinks water • Rainforest parrot- both plant and meat eater. • Beetles- it eats grass

  11. Descriptions of Plants • Bengal Bamboo- It often grows as an undergrowth or in patches in the rainforest. The vegetation in rainforests grow in layers. Some of the layers get sunlight, but the bottom layers get don’t get sunlight. This particular bamboo can grow anywhere between 40 ft and 80 ft in height. It is approximate 3 inches in diameter at maturity. • Bougainvillea- the plant can reach up to 3 feet. It can either be vines, trees, or shrubs with sharp thorns. • Carare- it grows as large as a liana or vine. The vines may get as thick as 4 inches in diameter at this base. It has large alternant, heart shaped leafs which may be 4-8 inches long and almost as wide as 2-6 inches. • Coconut tree- Grows to be 50 to 80 ft. There are many types of coconut trees. The smallest is called the dwarf palm. They all have a tall graceful trunks topped by a crown light feathery levees that are 15- 17 feet long.
