  2. ACADEMICS • You half to graduate high school and half to have a GPA of 2.4 or you have no chance to go into the coast guard.

  3. AFTER HIGH SCHOOL • After high school you half to sign a contract. Then you half to take the ASVAD then go through drills and challenges that they call basic training. And after you go through basic training you will graduate.

  4. WHAT COLLEGE CLASSES DO YOU HALF TO TAKE FOR THE COAST GUARD • You half to take the same classes you would if you was in high school like math science and stuff even if they don’t have anything to do with your career choose.

  5. THE DUTY OF THE COAST GUARD. • The coast guard enforces federal laws on the high seas and water within U.S. territorial jurisdiction

  6. SALARY/WAGES • The salary defends on what your ranking is and what job you have like a petty officer get 26 to 30 dollars a hour.

  7. Skills of the coast guard • The coast guard members do hands on jobs like working on the boats so they can patrol or they could do hands on work on the helicopters to.

  8. Advantages for being in the coast guard • As a active duty coast guard member you will get housing and meal allowance; free dental, and eye care and 30 day paid vacation.

  9. The disadvantage of the coast guard • If you wanted to retire early you cant you must finish your contract Also The government can deploy you whenever they want.

  10. Coast guard workplace • If you work on the base you will show up to a big area with some big buildings and will have boats and stuff in it. But if u worked on the boats and you went on patrols you would show up on the same base but you will report to a boat.

  11. The only man to get the medal of honor in the coast guard • Douglas A. munro is the only member of the U.S. coast guard to receive the medal of honor. He received this reward for his actions in WW2

  12. how the name coast guard came to be • The coast guard got its name from the revenue cutter service and also the life-saving service in august 4, 1790 and when they were merged they became the coast guard.
