Documents that shouldn't survive: preservation from before the archive in Catalonia and elsewhere

This presentation explores the problems and possibilities of preserving early medieval diplomatic documents, examining whether they were filed or lost. It also includes an approximate map of locations mentioned in the documents, such as Urgell Cathedral Archive, Abbey Church of St-Pierre de Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres, Romanesque Church of Sant Andreu de Gurb, and the Abbey Church of Cluny. The presentation also includes insights from the Freising King Alfonso I and his chancellor, depicted in the Liber Feudorum Maior.
