  5. We all feel overwhelmed sometimes by technology…

  6. Last year, our class at John Glenn Middle School implemented technology into some of our lessons.. • We used technology in conjunction with our lessons. • We found that using videos, on-line activities and websites engaged the students.

  7. What our classroom had for technology: • 5 Netbooks • 3 Desktop computers ( 2 teacher, 1 student) • 1 Laptop • LCD projector • 1 iPad (when SLP was in classroom) • Flip video • Kurzweil (voice output of written work, scanning worksheets to complete on computer)

  8. How we used the technology • Created Blog • Powerpoint presentations • teacher-created lessons • Student /class projects • Created video using the Flip Video camera for problem solving class

  9. Technology used continued… • iBook on the iPad (read aloud) • Skyped with author after reading his book • Speech Activities on the iPad (iConversation, Artikpix, Articulation test)

  13. Challenges we faced implementing Assistive Technology…. • Time, time, time!!! Time creating and troubleshooting lessons, creating usernames, creating and inserting videos. • Need for tech support: The LABBB AT team is considering and discussing how we are going to meet these needs. • Internet Safety and Privacy • Hardware that can accommodate software, devices, etc.
