  3. What is a fact? • Information that is NOT common knowledge • Common Knowledge: • Barrack Obama is our president. • The sky is blue. • There are 4 quarters in a dollar.

  4. Taking notes • Will not write everything that is read! • Stick with your graphic organizer for your information guide • Instead SUMMARIZE the information found • Record page numbers after the information • If write a direct quote, write who said it and the page number
