Nhs challenges

Special Trustees strategy day

NHS Challenges

The NHS is facing an unprecedented challenge in meeting growing demand for services within the financial constraints of flat real funding growth, leading to a forecast financial gap of £30bn by 2020/21.

The prospect of resources being outstripped by demand, driven largely by an ageing population and an increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, presents a significant challenge to the way the NHS currently commissions and provides care.
