Transmission Services Multiple projects are underway in Transmission Services • Performed studies of the Laredo area for future needs to maintain reliability • Performed studies to incorporate the future Northeast SPS’s into ERCOT procedures and the TCR process when applicable • Continued study of proposed new 345 kV lines • Received input from the stakeholders on the DFW area study • Provided Transmission Owner training on the Annual Load Data Request • Assisted Grid Operations with competing the NERC Control Area self assessment resulting from the Northeast blackout

Grid Operations No unusual operating incidents since the last Board meeting Creation of an Operations Review Process by ERCOT • Education for market participants on current ERCOT operating practices, especially congestion management • Explore root causes of current congestion and possible short term mitigation measures • Identify possible congestion management improvements • Identify needs for referral to the Regional Planning Groups • Open to all market participants • Facilitated by ERCOT System Operations staff This process will not: • Change operating procedures – any changes will use existing processes • Release confidential information to non-eligible entities First meeting is March 5th

Industry Activities NERC – Major workload for Regions following the investigation of the Northeast blackout • Current NERC activities include • Policy revisions and clarifications • Compliance templates additions • Training program requirements for CA and SC operators • CA and RC re-certification/audits • The NERC Board approved the staff and NSG recommendations from the investigation on Feb. 10th • Standards development will take on a higher priority DHS – Establishing a National Situational Monitoring Center and wants electric utility industry “health indicators” • The scope of this information has not been determined • Workshop for industry leaders on Feb. 24th
