Final Piece • You will design a promotional poster for a BBC documentary titled – • Art is Beautiful – The Stone Age • You must complete your work using Adobe Photoshop. • You must use the Layer mask function • Some of the images must be your own, either scanned or photographed. • Final images should contain the BBC logo and promotional information, integrated into the design – research to help you do this.

  3. Creating layer masks • File – New – A4 • Window – History (should have tick) • Turn layers on or off with the Eye. • Hover your mouse over tools to get the name/function/keybpard shortcut. • The move tool is the arrow + compass, put the cursor over an image and right click using this tool to discover the layer. • Type tool – change the font and font size. Select Bold. • Open image – Change opacity to 70% • Ctrl+T to change the size (hold shift at the same time to keep proportion). • Position the image over the letter. • Switch back to type layer, select the letter with magic wand. • Back to image layer. Change opacity to 100%. Click on layer mask icon. • The image must be above the letter, to make a layer mask. • Repeat.
