MARSOC Mission Statement US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), as the US Marine Corps component of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), trains, organizes, equips; and when directed by CDRUSSOCOM, deploys task organized, scaleable, and responsive US Marine Corps special operations forces worldwide in support of combatant commanders and other agencies.

Commander’s Endstate • Provide SOCOM w/ added SOF capability to prosecute the GWOT and future conflicts • MARSOC linked to the TSOCs and MEUs IOT provide a global maritime SOF presence • MARSOC capable of conducting Identified Core Tasks as directed by SOCOM mission requirements • MARSOC capable of providing HD/LD skills in support of SOCOM missions

  14. FMTU Mission Statement The FMTU provides tailored military, combat skills training and advisor support for identified foreign forces in order to enhance the tactical capability of partner nation forces, and prepare the environment in support of SOCOM.

FMTU Team Capabilities • Plan and conduct Special operations separately or as part of a larger force. • Conduct operations in remote areas and austere environments for extended periods of time with minimal external direction and support. • Develop, organize, equip, train, and advise or direct indigenous forces. • Perform other special operations as directed.

FMTU Capability Timeline • 1st/2nd Quarter FY06 - 2 teams capable of deployment • 3rd Quarter FY06 - 3 teams capable of deployment • 4th Quarter FY06 - 6 teams capable of deployment • 2 additional teams become capable each quarter through the end of FY08 • Global sourcing conference assigned 24 missions in FY06 and FY07

  20. MSOB Overview Provide command and control, and basic staff functions for MSOCs. Can battle roster to augment a JSOTF and are deployable commands.
