  3. Reasons for Implementation • Tracking cases for our student intervention program – Because We Care. Was being done with spreadsheets, MS-Word documents, e-mail, etc. • Creating cases for student retention items such as not registered for next semester, low mid-term grades, no FASFA received, etc.

  4. Implementation Timeline • Installed & setup software Summer 2008. Most of the initial setup was done as part of Datatel consulting services packaged with the software, requiring minimal IT resources. • Started entering individual cases for BWC Fall 2008. • Customizations done throughout fall and spring semesters. • First batch cases created Spring 2009. • Currently working with Datatel on enhancements to help with administration, performance, and usability issues.

  11. Batch Assignment by Subroutine Subr determines what students are selected for a case. We also included code for sending e-mails.
