  7. Reflection • Who were the best 3 teachers that you have had? Why did you pick those individuals? • Who were the worst 3 teachers that you have had? Why did you pick those individuals? • What aspects of teaching are you looking forward to the most? • What aspects of teaching are concerned about?

  9. Role Expectations • Agree or Disagree? Why? • Good health • Psychologically stable • Invested in the community (e.g. own a home) • Solid preparation (including pedagogy) • US citizenship • Socially acceptable use of leisure time • Ethical character

  22. Stages of Teacher Deveolpment • Survivial • Teaching to the situation • Teaching for student results • Dependent on perspective and responsibility (who’s is it?) • Problem in class = Problem with teaching

  23. Safeguards • What can you do to help keep all of these “parts and pieces” to the art and science of teaching safe? • How can you safeguard against forgetting one or not implementing it? • Why is thinking of a safeguard important?
