  2. Knowing the vulnerabilities of all pupils Assessment and tracking Developing the workforce M&E impact and analysing data Developing the quality of provisions Provision mapping ‘blockbusters’ Provision Mapping …making informed choices …maximising impact Identifying the right provision for all pupils

  3. DfE working definition of provision mapping ‘Gaps in attainment and patterns of underachievement still persist for some disadvantaged groups. Many schools have developed systematic approaches to mapping planned interventions for vulnerable individuals and groups. However, to successfully tackle underachievement there is a need to move beyond intervention mapping towards the more holistic process of provision mapping. Unlike intervention mapping, which identifies specific targeted support for individuals and groups of pupils, provision mapping takes into account the full scope of provision, including quality first teaching, guided and group work and individual interventions in order to identify and remove potential barriers to learning and meet the needs of all pupils within and beyond the school setting.’

  4. The Friary’s Definition • Provision Mapping: • Removes barriers to learning • Can meet the needs of ALL children • Moves away from SEN to whole school • Is pro-active

Revision sessions Educational visits ‘Open door’ for subject issues Nurture groups Funding for disadvantaged students Extraction for an academic boost Curriculum design incl CEAG G and T enrichment activites SEN support classes ‘Alternative’ curriculum
