  15. Attainment [continued] • ER is consistently the highest achieving authority • Calderwood’s National Test results very good for 2006 – rigorous monitoring required • Need to improve Standardised test scores and maintain high performance

What has Changed • New spelling, handwriting,phonics, Art schemes • Appointment of music specialist • Increase in support staff/improved support • New non-fiction library area • improved communication with staff and with parents • Building stronger relationships with other schools • More formative assessment • Better use of summative assessment information • Staff taking on responsibilities/sharing leadership • Smoother transitions • Striving to be more welcoming • More active methodology • Higher attainment

  18. The Future No plans to close Calderwood Lodge. However… • To remain viable we need to attract more pupils • We need the support of more Jewish families • We must integrate the study of other world religions into the curriculum Q Should non-Jewish children be required to study Hebrew and Kodesh? Q What about the voluntary contributions for non-Jewish families?

  20. Remember • Calderwood Lodge is an excellent school • Attainment is at an all time high • Our pupils go on to achieve great things • We need the support of the entire Jewish community in order to continue to prosper • We need YOU!
