  • 1. China is located in Asia.

  • 2. Most people live along the east coast or in river valleys.

  • 3. China is isolated because it is surrounded by mountains, jungles, desert and ocean.

  • 4. Chinese civilization rose around the Huang He and Yangzi river. around 1650 B.C.

  • 5. Around 1650 B.C. the Shang people gained control of Northern China.

  • 6. During the Shang dynasty the kings ruled small amounts of land.
